As the seasons begin to shift, so does our local arts scene. September brings back-to-school, theater and dance auditions for fall and winter programming, Plein Air painters capturing the fall light, and plenty of live music—see what’s happening in the valley in September.

We’re shining our September spotlight on Midway Playhouse, where dedicated volunteers and young performers are bringing high-quality community theater to life in Heber Valley.
The Midway Playhouse may be a new name in the valley, but its founding team is no stranger to the stage. With nearly a decade of experience bringing theater to life in Heber Valley, this dedicated group of volunteers is passionate about sharing the joy and benefits of the performing arts with local youth and the community.
What makes Midway Playhouse stand out is the incredible volunteer spirit behind each production. From sets and costumes to lights and sound, countless community members step up to make the magic happen. The results speak for themselves—audiences often remark that the quality of these productions exceeds expectations for a small town, rivaling shows in larger cities.
Their biggest success? Watching local youth grow in confidence, teamwork, and talent—on and off the stage. Beyond performance skills, young actors develop life lessons in public speaking, dependability, service, and creativity that carry far beyond the theater.
This fall, Midway Playhouse kicks off its premiere season with Aladdin Jr. followed by a teen production of Footloose in February. With continued community support, they hope to expand opportunities and keep up with the high demand for youth theater in our valley.
